Welcome to Self Love Holistic Healing's Fine Art and crafts

I first realized the notion that I could create “material art”  6 years ago, shortly after moving here to Kahakuloa.  While here on a soul recovery journey, I was finally quiet long enough to absorb nature and my surroundings. Prior to that, I was the banker in a family of artists. My uncle Bruce Turnbull, A Master Sculptor has been an artist here on Maui for over fifty years. Gentle nudges from my uncle, to explore art, led me to gather items that I found beautiful and unusual - there were fragments of his stone carvings everywhere around his studio 

as well as beachwood, shells etc. while exploring the beautiful beaches of Maui. 

I started a collection, then a vision formed. After a little instruction on how to use select tools, 

I was able to carve, polish and then string together a unique creation. I found immense peace and a sense of satisfaction placing various forms of nature together. I learned that art is an expression of one's mind, body and soul. It's not so important as to ​what​ it is,  just “that​ it​ is” As I work with these gifts of nature I can imagine creation more profoundly. We’re all the same… yet different… natural to polished, complimentary together or uniquely one. 

Each piece of nature has a specific element and energy to it and without realizing, as I’m placing pieces together,  the “whole” piece created, has synergistic energy. 

That is why you will be drawn to it.
